at the eslite
next to the department store and movie theater, there is eslite. first floor is shopping area, second floor is shopping place, third floor is bookstore. Mindy told me from the other day, the eslite bookstore in xinyi district and taipei 101 are the two must see spots for tourisms from mainland china. Why? Because they are curious about how can wu ching-you turn the entire building into a bookstore.

spent an afternoon at eslite tienmu, a cool choice in a hot summer day.

santa monica
many of my friends told me how beautiful santa monica is. well, so i did some studies on it.

"Santa Monica is bursting at the seams with over 120 museums, galleries and public art displays in a seaside community of 8.3 square miles. All of these are easily accessible by car, foot or public transportation."

"Its stunning beach is the city’s greatest natural asset. Blessed with 3.5 miles of broad sandy coastline and more than 340 days of sunshine per year."

"With access to some of the freshest produce and seafood in the country, Santa Monica chefs draw upon the city's rich cultural influences–its proximity to Latin America and the Pacific Rim as well as the influx of chefs from Europe.

"santa monica international film festival sep. 19-21, 2008
museums, galleries, beach, sunshine, chef cuisine, film festival...my trip is looking very good.
